If you’re flying in, Kansas City International Airport (MCI) is about 45 minutes from the venue. The new terminal is a significant improvement over the previous airport and there is plenty to offer. MCI offers a good selection of direct flights and is primarily served by Southwest, Delta, and American Airlines. Amenities at the airport include:‑ Escape Lounge (Priority Pass access)‑ Delta Sky Club‑ Free Wi‑Fi throughout the terminal&nbsp;‑ A wide variety of restaurants, cafes, and local BBQ favorites&nbsp;&nbsp;

MCI’s consolidated rental car facility brings most major rental companies together in one convenient location just off the airport grounds, with frequent shuttles between the terminal and the rental center. You’ll find standard options from brands like Alamo, Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz, National, and more. Other ground transportation options include:‑ Ride‑share services (Uber, Lyft) — designated pick‑up/drop‑off areas near the terminal exits.‑ Taxis and car services — can be metered or pre‑booked and are available outside arrivals.

The Embassy suites in Olathe, KS is located 13 minutes from Cedar Valley Forrest. This is the primary hotel for the wedding and the availability is on a first-come, first-serve basis for reservations. The link will lead you to a custom page to book under our room block. Embassy Suites, Olathe Kansas

The Courtyard by Marriott in Olathe, KS is another great option located 20 minutes from Cedar Valley Forrest. Availability is on a first-come, first-serve basis for reservations. Hotel & Travel

For our end-of-May celebration, we’re asking guests to dress in cocktail attire. For women, this typically means a dress, skirt and top, or a dressy jumpsuit paired with heels or nice flats. For men, think a suit or sport coat with dress pants, a collared shirt, and dress shoes—ties are optional but welcomed. The look should be polished and festive, perfect for an early summer evening.

The National WWI Museum and Memorial is a must-see for history lovers. It houses the largest collection of World War I artifacts in the world and features immersive, thoughtfully curated exhibits. The museum sits within a beautifully maintained park and memorial grounds, offering great views of the Kansas City skyline. If time allows, we highly recommend purchasing a ticket to the observation tower for a panoramic view of the city.

This is also where the rehearsal dinner is! One of our favorite places to take guests in KC, for $15 you get one of the best brewery tours that exists of the largest craft brewer in America.

Boulevard Brewing Company Tour

We love the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art and think it’s well worth a stop if you have time. The interior courtyard has an ancient, peaceful feel to it and is one of our favorite parts of the museum. Inside, you’ll find an incredible collection that includes paintings by Monet and Van Gogh, along with art from all over the world. Admission is free, and the sculpture park outside is great for a walk.

Things to Do

Edward and Sarah’s story began in the spring semester of their junior year at the University of Oklahoma in 2021. What started as a college romance quickly grew into something special, and by the time graduation rolled around in May 2022, they had already built a strong foundation together. Soon after, they packed up their lives and moved to Austin, Texas, right in the middle of the city’s big boom, following a new job opportunity for Edward. They spent three wonderful years there, making new friends, exploring new places, and growing together through all of life’s changes. By 2025, with both working remotely, they decided it was time for a new adventure and a place to truly call home. That April, they bought their first house together in Kansas City, Missouri, where they now live happily with their two beloved cats, Mochi and Chai.
